My name is Wanda Shorter, the Lead Teacher, for Special Education at Sun Valley Elementary School. I have been in the school system for 16 years and in Special Education for 14 years. I am excited about the Special Ed. Team at Sun Valley, and about providing services to your son or daughter.

I received my BS degree from Alabama A&M University, my Master’s degree from The University of Alabama in BT天堂, my Ed.S from Grand Canyon University. I also completed the course work for the Doctoral program at Grand Canyon University. I have been married for 35 years to my husband Tyrae, together we have one son (Tarrence) and two grand children, Aspen 22 and Jaiden 5.

I am a very realistic person and teacher, my expectations of your child is that he or she does the best he can each day. The special education department at Sun Valley is committed to assisting the students to reach their full potential. With your assistance and support, I know that each student here will be able to be successful.
