I am Wanda Shorter, the new Parent Involvement Coordinator at Barrett Elementary School. I am excited about this school year and the opportunity to work with all of you. I am housed at Barrett on the second floor and will be working on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of each week.

My goal is to serve as a liaison between the school and parents, relaying the needs of one to the other, assist teachers and staff with communicating and working effectively with parents as equal partners, advise and assist parents on how to address issues with the leadership staff in school meetings, and to serve as a school-based intermediary contact for concerns and comments made by parents and community members.
