New Teacher of the Year

Alexis Montgomery, a dedicated educator with 12 years of experience in BT天堂 City Schools, currently serves as a prominent educator at A. H. Parker High School. She specializes in teaching upper-level mathematics, including Algebra 2 with Statistics and Precalculus. Ms. Montgomery has made significant contributions to the Attendance Team, New Teacher Mentor, Problem-Solving Team, Senior Advisor, District Mathematics Curriculum Writer, Benchmark Assessment Developer, and Instructional Leadership Team. 

 

She is a 2003 graduate of A. H. Parker High School where she earned an Advanced Diploma and was in the Top 10% of her class. She then earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 2008; in 2018, God redirected her path back to her childhood dream of becoming a teacher, and she obtained a Master's in Secondary Education Mathematics from Alabama A&M University. Currently, she is working towards an additional certification in Leadership & Supervision at the University of West Alabama. Beyond professional commitments, Alexis is a devoted mother to her three-year-old, Ayden, active in her church and community, and continues to make a positive impact on students' lives.
